ALEXANDRIA LIC ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHIC DESIGN
As part of the EGD team led by top leads Jenny and Suejin, I worked collaboratively from concept development to final execution to transform an abandoned industrial building in Long Island City into a dynamic and vibrant science center and co-working space.
Inspired by cellular assay techniques, our team developed a comprehensive environmental graphic design system that included wayfinding, signage, and immersive wall graphics—all while maintaining a minimal budget and minimizing waste. The project was an exercise in sustainability, not just in message but in method—emphasizing reuse, recycling, and resourceful design choices without overproduction.
Together, we explored how environmental graphics could shape a spatial narrative—guiding visitors through a scientific journey from floor to floor, from horizontal to vertical, from two-dimensional to three-dimensional. Our work transformed the space into a living example of how thoughtful design can make sustainability tangible and turn everyday architecture into an engaging, educational, and collaborative experience.
